Cut-To-Size Items are Non-Returnable!

As per our Shipping and Returns Policy, custom cuts and fabricated parts are non-returnable. If you need an over- or undersized item, note it under \"Comments\" during Checkout. Cut-to-size orders have an acceptable cut tolerance of 1/8" (0.125"), so clarify if the adjustment is to be made on the (+) or (-) side of the saw blade. Please review our full return and shipping policy here.

Measure Twice, Cut Once

Since custom cuts and fabricated parts are non-refundable, be very careful while measuring your dimensions. As each cut is nominal, even the slightest miscalculation could be costly.

How to Use a Measuring Tape

Extend your tape measure several inches to find the 1 and 2 inch markers. In between the inch markers you’ll find 16 equally spaced tick marks.

Measure by counting the increments beyond the nearest inch. As the increments decrease, so does the length of the mark. For example, 1/2\" has a bigger mark than 1/4\" which has a bigger mark than 1/8\". The smallest mark follows at 1/16\". Please be aware that some measuring tapes may have even smaller increments.

Features of a Measuring Tape: Sliding End Hook

The sliding end hook is designed for two different types of measurements. An outside measurement (where the hook of the tape hangs over an edge), requires the hook to slide out a bit to account for the thickness of the material. When making an inside measurement (where the hook will push up against a surface), the clip slides in, again, accounting for its thickness. The measuring tape self-adjusts to guarantee an accurate measurement (as far as the tape is concerned).

Description

UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is a common machinable plastic known for durability, versatility and cost-effectiveness as well as abrasion, impact and chemical resistances. UHMW plastic features a molecular weight that ranges from 3.1 million to 100 million grams per mole, with an abrasion resistance that continues to improve as molecular weight increases.

First developed by Interstate Plastics, IPX 2000 UHMW is a machinable advanced engineer polyethylene compound manufactured to retain the high qualities of traditional UHMW but with increased abrasion resistance and UV stability. IPX 2000 advanced wear technology is UV stabilized for long term exposure in outdoor applications, which increases product life as well as high quality performance.

IPX 2000 is known for high resistance to corrosive chemicals (except oxidizing acids), low moisture absorption and high resistance to friction. Due to a specialized self-lubricating formula, the coefficient of friction of IPX 2000 is significantly lower versus traditional UHMW, nylon and acetal. IPX 2000 is burgundy red in color and not approved for FDA contact. IPX 2000 is commonly used to improve performance in existing plastic applications and replace metals in more demanding solutions. Applications for IPX 2000 are virtually the same as UHMW and include gears, springs, plates, bushings and housings.

Availability:
IPX 2000 comes standard in burgundy red. Sheet sizes are available as large as 48" x 120" and in custom cut-to-size dimensions.

Improved Abrasion Resistance:
IPX advanced wear technology UHMW improved from 16 to 7 compared to standard UHMW in a standard slurry test. This lower number indicates as much as a 40% increase in wear resistance over competitors grades of UHMW.

Lower Coefficient of Friction:
The additives in IPX allow for added slip; as much as 30% more. This added slip decreases part wear in nearly all applications.

Decreased Thermal Expansion/Contraction:
The formulation of IPX advanced wear technology UHMW allows for more stability and less part expansion and contraction, thus allowing for closer part tolerances and fit.

Fully UV Stabilized:
IPX advanced wear technology UHMW is UV stabilized for long term exposure in outdoor applications. You will experience an increased useful life and consistent performance in a wide range of temperatures and conditions.
